Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF)

The Teaching Assistant Program in France ( TAPIF ) is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. The program's goal is to strengthen English-language instruction in French schools by establishing a native speaker presence, while also providing Francophiles with excellent teaching experience and first-hand knowledge of French language and culture.

TAPIF is an annual program. The program places selected applicants in all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Réunion. Assignment/contracts are available at the elementary or secondary school level and last 7 months, from October 1st through April 30th. The application process usually starts in late September/October and closes in February. Participants in TAPIF are paid for their work assignment. Candidates must be between 20 and 35 years old on the start date of the program
