Since its foundation in 1974, the École de la langue française et de culture québécoise of the Université du Québec à Chicoutim has built itself an enviable reputation based on solid expertise and high quality training. They offer quality immersion programs year-round (spring, summer, fall and winter sessions), allowing students who are 18 years old and older from all over the globe to enjoy an extraordinary linguistic, cultural and personal experience in the most Francophone region of Canada. Accommodations with a host family is also available.

The École de langue also offers a program specific to teachers titled, "Teachers in Immersion". This 10-day intensive program of classes and teaching activities is ideal for French teachers, but also for those who teach in French and wish to refine their language skills and cultural knowledge in a completely Francophone environment in Québec. This is a unique opportunity to combine professional development with recreation in an atmosphere that fosters communication and discovery.
