JAMAIS TROP TÔT (“NEVER TOO EARLY”)

A top-notch show created by youth from around the country

The Conseil culturel et artistique francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CCAFCB) has partnered with the Réseau national des galas de la chanson and the Festival international de la chanson de Granby to take part in "Jamais trop tôt". This dynamic project, which starts with the composition of sets of song lyrics and culminates in a performance of songs at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby. It targets young francophones between the ages of 14 and 17 from all over Canada.

By engaging with this project, they hope to promote the beauty and richness of the French language while also helping develop the songwriting and singing talents of young francophones in British Columbia.

The project rolls out in 3 stages:

  1. Collaborative composition of a song text, 250 words maximum, within a workshop context with a professional facilitator.
  2. The top 12 texts will be put to music by former semi-finalists from the Festival international de la chanson de Granby.
  3. Interpretation of these songs by youth ages 14 to 17, performed at the Jamais Trop Tôt Showcase in September as part of the Festival international de la chanson de Granby.
The selection of a young talent representing BC takes place during the show-competition Pacifique en chanson, organized by the CCAFCB. This provincial part is done in partnership with the Conseil Jeunesse francophone de C.-B., which helps to recruit and select the young artists.
